The Las Vegas Strip isn't in Las Vegas...
This might seem weird but the truth is that the Las Vegas Strip, home to countless hotels, casinos and tourist attractions, isn't even in Las Vegas. Instead, it's in the neighboring town of Paradise... Crazy, right?
Las Vegas is Really, Really Bright...
Las Vegas not only has millions of lights... it's actually considered the brightest spot on earth! ~ this is per NASA!! How do they know this? Astronauts on the International Space Station take pictures of every part of the planet. When the pictures are of night, Las Vegas stands out among all the other cities of the world!
Gambling? Yes. Powerball? No.
In Las Vegas, you can do all the gambling you want as long as you have money to spend. What you can't spend that money on is a lottery ticket! When you think about it, it's not that surprising... the gambling industry doesn't want or need the competition.
The Neon Graveyard...
Where do the Las Vegas neon signs go when they die? The Neon Museum, of course! A Salt Lake City business called Young Electric Sign Company, or YESCO, has a Las Vegas storage yard where they keep old neon signs like the ones from the Golden Nugget, The Aladdin and more. You can book a tour online at the Neon Museum's website!
Wedding Bells in Las Vegas...
Quickie weddings are a specialty in Las Vegas. In fact, over 300 couples get married here every single day! That's more than 120,000 couples tying the knot annually. You only need a driver's license or passport, less than $100, about 20 minutes of your time and boom... you & your immortal beloved will be hitched!!
